Partly Fishes Friends Only

This journal is partly friends only, meaning that my inner most thoughts and serious stuff like that is reserved for my friends to read. Otherwise, this is pretty much open to the public. Read away!

You know what? Fuck that I'd promised myself not to do a blog about this before I got home. I promised so I'd not miss out on anything while staying here, but at the moment I'm just relaxing at my uncle's, so I am going to make a post! I have things to get out of my system.

So, when we landed on the North American continent after 12 hours of traveling (well, not constant traveling - we changed flights in Brussels) we were very surprised to see my grand father there, because we had thought all along that we would be staying at my uncle's house. He greeted us and at first it was a bit awkward. It was the first time I saw the man in seven or eight years. Maybe more. But he is a nice man, although there is this great generation gap between us.
Anyway, his wife Fanny certainly greeted us open heartedly! You know, real South American style with loud and high pitched 'weeeeelcome' and 'heeeelloooo!'s. It was a little difficult being a guest in their house, though, but I'll get into that later.

The next day we went to The Big Apple, New York City. Which, obviously, is exactly as we see it in all those movies. We saw a lot, which I'm going to elaborate when I get home. This is just, you know, statements and thought needing to get out.
But New York was nice. As said we saw a lot and bought a lot - it's an expensive city. I bought two books, among other things, one of which I've already read, both of them 'gay fiction' as it says on the label. Haha.

The one I've read is called 'A Secret Edge' by Robin Reardon.

It's about this sixteen year old boy who figures he's gay, and starts a relationship with this other gay guy from his high school.

Linguistically speaking it's no masterpiece. Very straight forward, you know, as it's written from the main character's point of view - it's his eyes we're seeing things through - and easy to get through, because the language isn't curled up and such. But it still manages to be interesting, the language. It's written in present tense, which I like, and in first person.

It's a great book, with fantastic points and views on the matter of coming out and being gay as a teenager. I loved that. But it made me feel like I was inexperienced, seeing as Jason is only sixteen, and still he gets a boyfriend and makes out with other boys. It made me feel like I should get going.
So I intend to ;)

Bye for now :)

Though it's both windy and cloudy today (at least up to now it has) this day has still managed to thrill me. But let me tell you about yesterday first.
Yesterday was one of those days you spend mostly online. I know I did. And in addition to that I more specifically spent it on watching movie trailers. So now I have a bunch of movies I'd like to watch in the near future.

"Salt". I might be gay, but I love good action - and dear Angelina, too!

-
"A Single Man". It just might be due the fact that the movie is about a gay man, but I also adore Julianne Moore. Somehow it's seems very unreal that she's pushing fifty. Besides, it was directed by Prada's head-designer (I think).

"Avatar: The Last Airbender". Yes, I know it's based on some trashy cartoon (frankly, I don't even have a clue wether it's trashy or not), but I'm a s u c k e r for martial arts, not to mention my infatuation for elemental powers or just super natural powers in general.

"Push". Did I mention my infatuation for super natural powers? First time I ever saw X-Men (the movie, that is), I wanted to be a mutant. I'm always so fascinated by that kind of stuff.

There were others, but these four are the movies I'd like to see the most.

Besides watching movie trailers (I can recommend the youtube channel VISO trailers, in particular, for those who want to broaden their taste in movies), I also tried a lot of new music. I've already fallen in love with bands like Empire of the Sun and Two Door Cinema Club. Also, I obtained the Brokeback Mountain Soundtrack. I really comprehend why it won an oscar - so impressive and evocative!

Anyway, today has been quite eventful, too. I started out waking up to a touching dream. I dreamt something about my little brother arriving for a ceremony being held at my school due to the end of the year. He was so little and cute that I just burst into tears (that being in the dream). It occured to me how much I actually care for my brother. He has undergone a lot of changes recently - my, he's soon to be a young man. But he'll remain my baby brother no matter how old he gets.
Have I, by the way, mentioned that we'll be moving in together. When we're moving into Peters house, we're to share room. I hope it will make us closer. but. odd much!
Back on track - I woke up and realised that today was the day of my oral examination in German. So I was quite a nerve wreck. But hell - it went terrifically! I freakin' got an A. It almost feels a little bit sad that I'm not taking the subject in High School. It was such a relief! and my sensor even gave me advice about taking the journalism education. Apparantly, as things are now, it's better to get it in Odense (which is very close to where I live). So if I'm deciding on the journalism it'll be quite easy.

Now I just need to pull the oral examination in English off.  Will I make it?
